South Essex Model Aircraft Society.
IN MEMORY OF THOSE THAT HAVE TAKEN THEIR LAST FLIGHT.
We are sorry to inform you of another member that has passed away.
Colin Bardrick aged 71 passed away in a nursing home on 12th April 2008. Colin had an accident down the field on 13th June 2004 and has been in hospitals and nursing homes ever since. He will be sadly missed at the field and our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
It is with sadness that the death of John Thirkettle has been announced. John will be remembered as a fastidious builder were every thing had to be just so. The weight of the model was most important down to the last gram. A traditional builder still covering with tissue the grade of which had to be correct. He mainly flew electric models and would boast on the amount of time he could keep the model airborne. A most likeable member of Southend radio flying club who will be sorely missed at the field.

We are sorry to say that we have lost one of our friends from the flying field, "Steve (Kite) Hajdar"
Steve was having a bad time with life, to the point where he took his own life. He was found Wednesday 18th April 2007.
For those of us that knew Steve "Kitey" would know that he was a fun loving guy always pleasant and caring.
He will be sadly missed by all of his friends down the field.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
On 20 February 2010, an auction was held at TTI which prompted the following testament from Steve's family
To all the members of Semas Flying Club who turned out on Saturday, we would like to say a big thank you for your support and generosity in helping us find new homes for all Steven's aircraft. A special thanks to Dick for the benefit of his knowledge and organisational skills. It's nice to know that they will continue to be a part of the club that Steven enjoyed so much. Many thanks from all Steven's family.
